Bio

Linda Iannacone MA, ATR-BC

I been facilitating arts groups for over 25 years, working in public schools, community centers, and mental health institutions. I graduated in 2006, summa cum laude, from Southwestern College with a masters in Art Therapy and have been a nationally registered Board Certified art therapist since 2008. Working for 15 years in a hospital setting, I developed a program that integrates art therapy with mindfulness, DBT, and psychodrama methods. I am a Supervised Practitioner of Psychodrama and Group Sociometry.

I remember being 7 years old, spending much of my time playfully creating and knowing that I wanted to make a life connected to art. With a Bachler’s Degree in Fine Art, it’s a long way since cardboard carousels and finger paint. My journey went from painting to video production and back to printmaking and a whole lot of exploration in between. My interest in working with groups and in seeing people achieve personal and collective goals, led to the marriage of art and counseling. Today, I am honored that I have been able to live my passion and extend my skills and understanding to many other people.  I also enjoy travel, yoga, cooking, meditation, gardening, biking and kayaking.
