Mindfulness & Creativity Practice

A creative practice can be a great mindfulness tool, allowing you to be in the moment, clear your mind and be grounded. I regularly incorporate mindfulness practices in my therapy sessions and in workshops. Mindfulness is a core aspect of developing our awareness and understanding of ourselves, our environment and our connections to others.  Here are some ideas for incorporating mindfulness in creative ways.

Mindful Scribble Excersize

Using your nondominate hand, scribble for 1-3 minutes. Allow yourself to be free of judgement. Observe the tactile and sensory experience. Go slow. Go fast. Mindfully explore this experience. Resist the urge to make it into anything. Try with your eyes closed.
